The Raspberry Pi 3B+ has quite an interesting wireless chip on-board – quite a lot of functionality! Split up into the Bluetooth functionality, and 802.11:
Internally there are a couple of ARM cores – a Cortex-M3 for the Bluetooth side, and a Cortex-R4 on the WLAN side. It is almost like two separated cores – no idea if they actually are using two chips inside the package.
